Why Your Car AC Is Not Blowing Cold

When your air conditioning starts blowing warm on a hot Columbus afternoon, it is more than an annoyance. A few different things can cause it, and some are cheaper to fix than others.

Common reasons AC stops cooling

  • Low refrigerant, often from a small leak
  • A failing compressor
  • A clogged cabin air filter restricting airflow
  • Electrical or sensor problems
  • A blend door or blower motor issue

Do not just keep recharging it

If your AC needs a recharge every summer, you almost certainly have a leak. Topping it off over and over treats the symptom while the real problem gets worse. It is worth finding the leak and fixing it once.

We can check the system, find the actual cause, and tell you what it will take to get cold air back. See our heating and cooling service or book a visit.
